so i’ve been thinking about the current 14-day withdrawal period for the blast bridge. originally i get why they set it up to discourage people from quickly pulling their funds out but honestly i think it’s doing more harm than good now.
i know a bunch of folks myself included, who are put off by this long wait. it makes the whole process feel slow and less appealing compared to other chains. a lot of my friends have straight up avoided blast because of this.
how about we cut it down to 7 days instead? it’s still a decent amount of time to manage outflows but way more user-friendly. other chains with shorter withdrawal times are more attractive, and i think this change could really help us draw in more users.
Yeah, I would like this too, mainly because there are other bridges, like relay.link, where we can bridge ETH in 10 seconds from/to Blast super cheap. So it is an opportunity that Blast is losing of people using Blast bridge instead of others.
Yes, exactly,
I see more of a mental barrier here. 14 days is too long for our . 1 week already reduces concerns and inhibitions.
People who want leave the oekosystem will use another bridge and pay a fee and it shouldent be like this.
When we always talk about the advantages of blockchain 24/7 and practically instant credit transfer worldwide.
It’s basically back to the old banking system where transfers need a few days and comes with high fees.
And the goal is to unbank the bank, right
If it’s possible I woul even go to 3-5 days
I imagine they must have a staking reason. Maybe they take some time to manage the funds, given I think Blast stakes eth from main net and gives us blast eth, what I imagine it is a staked form of eth (?).
Yes could be, there must be a reason.
1week ago I unstaked ETH from Lido and I just had to wait 24h. and earlier I had to wait 1 week. So I assume 1 week could be possible.
