Agree with the incentivization of assets other than USDB and ETH, but also important to be conscious of significant influence and control for Blast token holders.

There may be caps if the $Blast tokens held influence governance proposals to prevent a core few driving the direction of the chain.

I wanna see those EEEEEYES :eyes:

Support this.
Creating value with $Blast is important.

@Pacman @jenn @jez

So where are the details? The snapshot vote/veto is coming up yet we have no idea what the incentive will be. (Or have I missed it?)

Which means, from all the comments and suggestions on this tread, none of them will matter unless the Proposal gets a veto and something is added/changed?

For example, who will determine how many points (or whatever) 1 $BLAST receives? Will it be the same for everyone? Etc. etc.

The Blast Foundation is pleased to announce that the Progress Council has approved BLIP2: Recommendation to Blast Foundation Regarding Use of the Points Program to Create Aligned Incentives. Further, based on community feedback, points will be applied retroactively to $BLAST.

Approval
Please see the Progress Council’s snapshot approval here.

Veto Option
As a $BLAST tokenholder, and in accordance with Section 6(b) of the Governance Bylaws, you have the right to veto the PC BLIP2 decision here. Proposals that meet the quorum requirements and are successfully vetoed will not be implemented.

Surely someone has mentioned this, but still cannot Veto or Abstain.

veto

Is Veto only for holders with 2M+ coins?

1 token equals 1 vote. I couldn’t vote either but I don’t have any native Blast tokens, only Blast ETH

It doesnt work, thats why there are still 0 in either option.

But hey, one good way to not worry about Veto is just blame it on the Snapshot software.

$50,000 x 5 and struggling to make Snapshot work, much less spend a minute to reply to any thread here. Seems a wise use of funds.

Yes, as I am sure you have already noticed.

The idea of distributing points to $BLAST tokenholders to foster a more engaged and robust tokenholder base is compelling. Here are some detailed thoughts and considerations on the proposal:

1.Alignment with Governance Goals:
*The proposal effectively aligns with the overarching goal of promoting active participation in governance. By incentivizing $BLAST holders to stay engaged, we can ensure that the decision-making process remains vibrant and representative of the community’s interests.

  1. Enhancing Engagement:
  • Distributing points to $BLAST holders is a strategic move to enhance engagement. This not only encourages long-term holding but also drives participation in governance activities, making the community stronger and more cohesive.
  1. Implementation Feasibility:
  • The partnership with Arcade Research seems like a practical and feasible approach to implement this initiative. Leveraging the Blast App for point distribution ensures a smooth and user-friendly experience for participants.
  1. Cost Considerations:
  • It’s beneficial that there are no additional costs for the Blast Foundation. The financial responsibility being taken on by Arcade Research is a positive aspect, making the proposal economically viable.
  1. Timeline and Action Plan:
  • The proposed timeline is clear and actionable. It sets realistic deadlines and ensures that the initiative can be rolled out efficiently. The immediate implementation post-veto period is a prudent approach to maintain momentum.
  1. Potential Impact:
  • By encouraging $BLAST holding and participation, we anticipate a more active and engaged community. This can lead to more thoughtful and inclusive governance decisions, ultimately driving the project’s success.

In conclusion, the recommendation to distribute points to $BLAST tokenholders is a strategic initiative that aligns well with our governance objectives. It has the potential to significantly enhance community engagement and participation. I support this proposal and look forward to seeing its positive impact on the Blast Foundation.
